Project description

Land Securities were appointed as Guildford Borough Council's Development Partner in September 2013 subject to concluding a Development Agreement and Richard Martinson has been working with Land Securities since the beginnning of 2014 as the feasibility Project Manager.

The site covers approximately 6.7 acres on land adjacent to the Priary Centre. The aim of the study is to deliver a financially viable scheme that achieves the aspirations of Guildford Borough Council on a complex site that has been a target for regeneration for a number of years.

Proposals had to recognise planning requirements in terms of massing, height, town centre permeability and quality of design. In addition, a strategy for relocating the bus station, the provision of suitable and sufficient parking as well as the aspiration of bringing another major department store to the town, needed to be developed.

The feasibility study was completed in 2016.
